Tips to eliminate sugar from your diet
Many people find difficulty in eliminating sugar in their diet.Also many are unaware of indirect sugars that they consume.Here are some tips:
1.When you go to a coffee shop you may order iced mochas,frapucinos,caramel machiatos a cappuccino etc.Do you know that these contain sugar more than a can of cola?Chilled,iced coffes are real culprits.They can contribute to 1/4th of daily recommended dosage of sugar intake.In case you go to coffee shop next time, go for skim milk.
Coffee shops as Starbucks do not add sugar in some coffee brands.You have the option of taking sugar.So choose not to add sugar.
2.Avoid drinking colas and sports-drinks which are loaded with sugar.Instead take water along with you when going out.
3.Excess carbohydrates and fats can be converted to sugar.So take these in your diet in moderation.
4.Natural alternatives to sugar that will not add extra calories or carbohydrates to food.So choose natural alternatives if you cannot avoid sugar in diet.
5.If you are diabetic,your doctor might have advised to avoid sugar rich foods.
All fruits have fructose sugar.Better to eliminate fruits in this case.Some vegetables as carrot,beetroot and potato also has indirect sugar content.Avoiding these will help.
6.Avoid taking refined sugars as sweets or cakes.Switch to whole grain bread.
7.Exercise and drinking plenty of water is required to maintain blood sugar level.
A total elimination of sugar in diet is near to impossible.Example is milk.Our diet contains many milk products.Milk has lactose sugar.Maintaining adequate sugar level is important.
